Procession of Silence
On Good Friday, 4,000 hooded brothers cross the city in absolute silence.
About this experience
Procession of Silence
Inspired by Sevillian Holy Week, Morelia's Procession of Silence is one of the most moving religious events in Mexico. Brotherhoods carry life-sized images of Christ and the Virgin lit only by torches, with no music other than a single muffled drum.
The route starts at the Templo de San Diego and crosses Avenida Madero. The whole downtown is closed to traffic and observers are asked to keep silence.
