Attraction
Plaza de Armas
Morelia's main square, framed by the Cathedral and centuries-old portales.
About this experience
Plaza de Armas
Also called Plaza de los Mártires, this is where mornings begin with coffee under the portales and evenings end with marimba concerts and street performers. It's the perfect first stop to feel Morelia's pace.
On weekends you'll find local craft markets, concerts at the kiosk and traditional dancers. Surrounding cafés serve Michoacán's famous coffee and gazpacho moreliano.
Insider tips
- Try a gazpacho moreliano (mango, jicama, pineapple, lime and chili) from a corner stand.
